Manchester City produced a stunning performance to crush Real Madrid 4-0 in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday, securing their place in the final.
The match was played at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, with City taking a commanding lead in the first leg, winning 4-3 in Madrid last week. The home side wasted no time in extending their advantage, with Riyad Mahrez scoring a penalty in the 11th minute after a handball by Dani Carvajal.
City continued to dominate the game, with Kevin De Bruyne doubling their lead in the 28th minute with a superb strike from outside the box. Phil Foden added a third goal in the 53rd minute, tapping in from close range after a cross from Joao Cancelo.
Real Madrid struggled to create any clear-cut chances, with Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior well-marshalled by the City defense. The visitors' misery was compounded when Bernardo Silva scored a fourth goal for City in the 74th minute, sealing a famous victory.
City will now face either Liverpool or Villarreal in the Champions League final on May 28 in Paris. It will be their second appearance in the final in three years, having lost to Chelsea in 2021.
