England Reach First Major Men's Final Since 1966

Kane's Penalty Miss Gets England Over the Line

England have reached their first major men's final since 1966 after beating Denmark 2-1 in the semi-finals of the 2023 UEFA EURO Championships.

Captain Harry Kane scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in extra-time after his first-half penalty had been saved. Denmark had taken the lead through Mikkel Damsgaard in the first half, but Simon Kjaer's own goal brought England level before the break.

England will now face Italy in the final at Wembley on Sunday, July 11th. It will be the first time that England have played in a major men's final since the 1966 World Cup, which they won 4-2 against West Germany.

This victory is a huge moment for English football and will give the nation hope that they can end their long wait for a major trophy. England have not won a major tournament since the 1966 World Cup, and they have only reached the semi-finals of a major tournament once since then, in 1990.

Gareth Southgate's side have shown great resilience and determination throughout the tournament, and they will need to show those same qualities in the final against Italy. Italy are a strong team, but England will be confident of victory after their performance against Denmark.

The whole country will be behind England in the final, and they will be hoping that Kane and his teammates can bring home the trophy.
