Packers Week 1 Highlights Rg Rotation Reed Shines And Love Injured

Packers Week 1 Highlights: RG Rotation, Reed Shines, and Love Injured

RG Rotation

The Green Bay Packers used a rotation at right guard in their Week 1 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Jon Runyan started the game and played the first two series. Lucas Patrick then entered the game and played the next three series.

Runyan returned to the game in the second half and played the rest of the way. Patrick did not play any snaps in the second half.

The Packers' decision to use a rotation at right guard was likely due to Runyan's age (35) and injury history. Runyan has missed 10 games over the past two seasons due to injury.

Reed Shines

Tight end Robert Tonyan had a breakout game in the Packers' win over the Vikings. Tonyan caught four passes for 46 yards and a touchdown.

Tonyan's touchdown catch came in the second quarter and gave the Packers a 14-0 lead. Tonyan also had a key catch on the Packers' game-winning drive in the fourth quarter.

Tonyan's performance was a welcome sight for the Packers, who were without tight end Jimmy Graham (knee injury) in Week 1.

Love Injured

Quarterback Jordan Love left the Packers' game against the Vikings with a shoulder injury in the third quarter. Love was replaced by Kurt Benkert, who finished the game for the Packers.

The severity of Love's injury is not yet known. However, it is possible that Love could miss some time with the injury.

If Love is unable to play, the Packers will likely start Benkert at quarterback in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions.
